THE WAVES
The main beach in Jericoacoara’s bay stretches for about 2 kilometers and enjoys direct exposure to east swells, creating clean and consistent surf conditions during the season.
The waves here are every longboarder’s dream - whether experienced or just starting out. They break all along the bay, peeling steadily for up to 150 meters, usually ranging from knee to waist-high, and occasionally reaching shoulder-high.
These are ideal conditions for practicing cross-steps, nose riding, turning techniques and refining your style. Because the waves are soft and forgiving, they’re also perfect for beginners looking to polish their basic surf skills.
Just a short drive east, near the village of Malhada, there’s also a faster, more challenging left-hand point break—best suited for shortboards and experienced surfers.
