Living the dream on the most sought-after waves on the planet
Surfing in Indonesia is every surfer’s dream. With its endless supply of long, perfectly shaped waves, crystal-clear water, authentic atmosphere, and breathtaking tropical scenery, it’s no surprise that Indonesia is considered one of the world’s most iconic surf destinations.
As the largest archipelago on the planet, Indonesia is home to over 18,000 islands — and along their shores break countless world-class waves. Year-round, powerful and consistent swells rolling in from the Indian Ocean meet Indonesia’s rich reef systems, producing legendary, perfectly lined-up walls. Light offshore winds groom the waves to perfection, while tropical sunshine, dramatic cliffs, and transparent turquoise waters complete the picture — turning any surf trip to Indo into the ultimate surf journey.
The Mentawai Islands are the crown jewel of global surfing — the ultimate destination, often referred to as the mecca of the surf world. Blessed with endless glassy hours, perfectly shaped waves year-round, and a remote tropical atmosphere, the Mentawais deliver an experience unlike anywhere else on earth.
The Playgrounds area, located in the northern part of the archipelago, is one of the most diverse and captivating surf zones in the Mentawais. It offers a rare concentration of high-quality breaks within a short boat ride of one another. From playful, peeling waves ideal for progressing surfers to fast, hollow barrels for advanced riders — the variety here is unmatched. Easy boat access between spots allows you to chase the best conditions each day, maximizing quality and consistency without compromise.
Join us for an unforgettable journey to surfing’s very own “Disneyland” — a destination where wave quality, power, and abundance truly have no equal.

Taking your surfing to the next level.
This is your opportunity to fine-tune your surfing in the world’s most sought-after wave arena.
Led by top-level coach Omer Shoval, our professional coaching program is designed to help you make the most of Indonesia’s long, open, high-quality waves and truly elevate your performance. With a structured and methodical approach, each surfer goes through a personalized progression process tailored to their current level and goals.
The journey to Indonesia has been carefully crafted to the highest standards, featuring a stunning accommodation, an experienced and dedicated local crew, and comprehensive support that covers every detail throughout the trip.
Every aspect of this workshop is meticulously designed — professionally, logistically, and technically — so that you can focus on just three things: surf, surf, and surf.
The Waves at Playgrounds
Playgrounds, located in the northern Mentawai Islands, is a compact zone packed with over 20 high-quality breaks within a short boat ride. It’s considered one of the most wave-rich and diverse surf regions in the world — offering right and left reef breaks, fast and technical waves for advanced surfers, softer and more forgiving walls for intermediates, and near “laboratory-like” conditions throughout the year.
Water temperatures range between 28–30°C (82–86°F), so there’s no need for a wetsuit — just rash guards and plenty of sunscreen. The reefs here are alive and thriving, yet most breaks peel over comfortable depth, providing a reasonable margin of safety.
September falls within the shoulder season — a period known for consistent surf, as southern Indian Ocean systems deliver steady, well-shaped swells. Average wave heights typically range from waist-high to overhead+, and the wide variety of breaks allows us to fine-tune spot selection daily according to swell direction, wind conditions, and the skill level of the group.
Hidden Bay Resort
An exotic resort set in a private bay in the northern Mentawai Islands, in the heart of the Playgrounds region. Most of the property is reserved exclusively for our group, creating an intimate atmosphere and full flexibility in choosing the daily schedule and best surf spots.
An experienced team supports us throughout the trip, both at the resort and in the water. Traditional Mentawai-style bungalows (Umas) are spacious, well-designed, and fully equipped. A professional chef leads the kitchen, serving a healthy and diverse menu.
The highlight: access to 22 different breaks, all within short 5–20 minute boat rides.
